It filled in the gaps and made learning a lot easier. I used this book as a supplement for my seminary course in Hebrew.
I homeschool and plan to use this book to teach Hebrew to my children as their foreign language in the next year or so as well. It is helpful to have someone who can help you with pronunciation though or answer questions.which fortunately, I do. This is a good curriculum for teaching yourself how to read biblical Hebrew. I can go at my own pace.
It does a very good job teaching texts and comes with an answer guide, so you can also use it independently. If you want to learn modern conversational Hebrew, this is not the primer for you. This book was the text used for a class I am enrolled in. It moves along at a quick pace, and is geared to Biblical Hebrew.
It is a great learn-it-yourself work book. I then bought this book and became leary of it when I saw it appeared to have been written by people who were not Orthodox Jews. When I showed the book to my Rav, he gave it a thumbs up and said that this book was no problem because it only discusses grammar and does not delve into matters of Jewish law.After reading this book, I can read the weekly parsha better than many FFBs now.
other than writing all over the first few pages, the book is in good shape.
